Prerequisites

This advanced course is for aspiring colorists who want to take their knowledge to the next level or long time users wanting more from their grading skills. Whether you're self-taught or looking to implement Resolve into your working pipeline, you'll spend 3 days in the Color page with a focus on advanced grading, conforming and color management techniques. A decent understanding of Resolve's Color Page will be required to keep up with the content for this 3-day course.

Trainer - Brad Crawford

Brad is a leading colourist and Blackmagic Design Certified Trainer. Brad spends his time training students at SAE Institute in Sydney in how to get the most out of DaVinci Resolve. As a Senior Lecturer for SAE's Film Department, he encounters the new crop of Undergraduate and up and coming filmmakers in all aspects of post-production using the latest industry technology and creative media techniques.

Working as a colourist Brad has been grading footage for over 12 years in one form or another. Things were very different then, and he much prefers the software and technologies used today. After native NLE grading and a host of early plugins, his first move into a full grading application was the very slick Apple Color and it's integration with FCP Studio. Not long after Brad was one of a handful of people worldwide to become certified to teach Apple Color as an Apple Certified Trainer.

Brad moved onto DaVinci Resolve several years ago with its extensive list of features and growing support community. It has been a fantastic injection into the high-end workflows and footage utilising the latest Digital Cinema cameras and traditional film material. Brad also completed Instructor status for Adobe After Effects, Avid Media Composer and Apple Color.

The new expanded Digistor Training Centre leads the way with an extensive range of instructor-led, hands-on training courses targeting the Digital Media industry. Classes are conducted on level 1 of our Training Centre in St Leonards, Sydney. Unfortunately the premises does not have lift access, however we are able to arrange for training to be delivered onsite at your office, remotely via Zoom, and also interstate.

How to Get There / Parking

By Train: Alight at St Leonards station and walk down Herbert Street. 20/39 is on your right and is an approximately 10 minute walk.
By Taxi/Car: Take the Reserve Road exit from the Gore Hill Freeway travelling North or after exiting the Lane Cove Tunnel travelling South.
Parking: There is very limited street parking available so it's best to seek alternate transport. There are occasionally spaces in Punch Street and Francis Street, and paid parking is available at Home HQ Artarmon (all a 5 minute walk).
